elcome To VoiceofNigeria.com, a journal of opinions with emphasis on Nigeria and Africa. Unlike various other sites that currently serve the Nigerian audience, our emphasis is on traditional African values backed with solid research and outstanding journalism. For centuries, our history and stories affecting us has been written by aliens with little or no knowledge of the people they purport to write about. Even when it is proven that these authors are outright ethnocentrics, they insist we accept factual inaccuracies as historical!  From the confines of their offices in far away lands, they beat a never ending drum of gloom and doom.  To them,  Africans are sitting, with arms folded, waiting to be fed and delivered from imminent demise by the western world! From intentional misinformation to outright bogus stories presented as "news"; a morbid fixation on the negatives, has become all,  and only all that Western media purveyors write about us.  But as Patrice Lumumba once wrote "History will one day have its say, but it will not be the history that Brussels, Paris, Washington or the United Nations will teach, but that which they will in the countries emancipated from colonialism and its puppets. Africa will write its own history, and it will be, to the north and to the south of the Sahara, a history of glory and dignity". The time has come for us to tell our own stories ourselves, and we intend to do just that.  So why this site you ask? "Because we are no longer at ease as   things have fallen apart, but the Man dies in him who keeps silent in the face of tyranny"
